Chakra Meditation -
Clear, Heal, Balance And Enliven Yourself
Regular chakra meditation can transform your life by clearing out and enlivening your vital energy centers. This is a direct way to heal ourselves on all levels of our being – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. This facilitates awakening to the Truth Of Who We Are and floods our entire energy field with wellbeing.
What Are Chakras?
Chakras are centers within our energy field where Life Force flows into and out of our being, on the physical as well as the emotional, mental, etheric and spiritual levels. Depending on our ability to release old stuck energies, we can either be enlivened or burdened by our chakra centers. That’s where chakra meditation comes in. As we focus on the Light within us we spontaneously release what stands in the way of our experience of Light, Love, and WellBeing.
What Do They Look Like?
In different people, and at different times, chakras can appear in a variety of ways. There is generally a predominant color associated with each chakra that corresponds to the same colors and arrangement of colors in a rainbow – from red at the base to violet at the crown (see below). However, I often see colors within a chakra that are different than the traditional color associated with it, as well as a variety of textures, feelings and layers.
During a WellBeing Alignment Session I experience chakras as vast, deep, multi-layered vortexes of energy. As I focus on a client’s chakra it is very much like entering an energetic doorway into their inner being, where all the vibrations of all their lives are stored. I experience the areas of trauma as darker in color and there is a sense of folding in, almost as if the chakra is trying to protect itself.
Seven Main Chakras
Although there are many other chakra centers within the whole of our being, in regards to chakra meditation, we’ll talk about the seven main ones that are the most associated with our physical / emotional / mental / spiritual being, with each one related to a specific aspect of our lives.
There are many different perspectives on what each chakra relates to and many different variations within each individual. The descriptions below are what I generally see in working with clients (and myself):
The Crown Chakra, which is the 7th Chakra, is at the very top of the head. It is associated with the colors violet and pure white Light. It is linked to our connection with Higher Power, Source, integration of the Whole, living in the now, meaning, devotion, inspiration, and higher alignment.
The Brow Chakra, or Third Eye, which is the 6th Chakra, is in the center of the forehead. It is associated with the color indigo and is linked to inner vision, unity perspective, divine understanding, discernment, wisdom, intuition, and intelligence.
The Throat Chakra, which is the 5th Chakra, is at the base of the throat and is associated with the color blue. It is linked to speaking and being our truth, taking responsibility for our own needs, surrendering our will to the Divine, trusting Source, decision making, personal authority, and our ability to manifest our creative impulses.
The Heart Chakra, which is the 4th Chakra, is in the center of the chest. It is associated with the colors green and pink. It is linked to love (as a union of spiritual and human love), compassion, confidence, trust, and inspiration.
The Solar Plexus, which is the 3rd Chakra, goes from just below the heart down to the navel. It is associated with the color yellow. It is linked to our internalized parent, “shoulds,” self-esteem, reaction to criticism, personal power, and ego – our sense of an individual, separate self.
The Sacral Chakra, which is the 2nd Chakra, is located just below the navel. Associated with the color orange, it is linked to our inner child, creativity, and spontaneity.
The Root Chakra, which is the 1st Chakra, is at the base of the spine and is associated with the color red. It is linked to our connection and loyalty to our “tribe,” family, and fellow human beings, our connection with Mother Earth, physical groundedness, survival instincts, pleasure / pain, and sexuality.
Why Is Chakra Clearing Important?
These vital energy centers can become clogged with residues from physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual traumas, both from this lifetime and from all the lifetimes we’ve ever lived in any time and dimension. Any build-up of residue will cause the natural flow of the chakra to be slowed down or blocked, negatively affecting all the organs and cells in the area of the body related to the chakra. This also affects our emotions, thoughts, the quality of our outlook, and wellbeing.
When negative energy is held within a chakra, we can feel stuck or constricted.
By neutrally observing stuck energies within chakra meditation, chakra clearing will occur spontaneously. The trauma within the energy center is released, allowing the chakra to spin and work in synchronicity with the other chakras. This facilitates inner harmony and balance as your whole energy field shifts to a more unified whole. Once our energy field is aligned with wellbeing in this way, healing begins organically. Our innate intelligence knows exactly how to take care of us once we bring neutral awareness to inner conflicts within our chakras.
Chakra healing results in greater self-compassion and self-love, which facilitate true and permanent healing.
Bringing more light into our being with chakra meditation also opens and strengthens a more conscious connection and alignment with wellbeing and Universal Love.
Chakras And Meditation
The practice of chakra meditation has been utilized for healing for thousands of years. Basically, the focus of chakra meditation is to consciously focus on our inner Light and Love at the same time as bringing attention directly into our chakra centers, thereby uplifting our vibratory rate and increasing the Light quotient within our energy field. This causes us to spontaneously release anything that isn’t vibrating with the higher frequency of Light that we call in. Thus, old wounds which are not in sync with this increase in Light rise to the surface of our awareness for release and healing.
Chakra meditation accomplishes many things at once: chakra clearing, chakra cleansing, chakra healing, and chakra balancing. All of these lead to awakening more fully into the Truth of Who We Are.
For chakra meditation, there are many variations of Light you can use for wellbeing and healing, including the following:
- Diamond White Light – purifies and aligns your energy field with a higher vibration, increasing your Light quotient for overall upliftment.
- Emerald Green Flame – restores and transforms our physical bodies.
- Violet Flame – is a combination of the sapphire blue ray of the Divine Masculine, the rose pink ray of the Divine Feminine, and the gold flame of Christ Consciousness that emerges when the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine are balanced within us. These three flames unify into a pure violet flame. It transforms and transmutes the cause, core, effects, habits, records and memories of negative energies into Light and Love.
- Rose Pink Light – infuses your being with the unconditional Love of Divine Mother and creates a bubble of protection both within and around you. This is wonderful for inner child healing, as well as protection.
- Sunshine Yellow Ray – is associated with Christ Consciousness and arises within our awareness as our masculine and feminine polarities come into balance. This Light ray is infused with Divine Wisdom and Illumination.
- Gold Light – is a deeper resonance of the Sunshine Yellow Ray. It draws true discrimination and peace into your being – an energetic nectar that stabilizes and nurtures your energy field. This is a good Light to bring in after you do energy work, for balancing and completion.
I suggest experimenting with all of these variations during your chakra meditation practice (as well as any others your intuition offers up) and seeing which one you resonate with. You may find yourself drawn to different Lights at different times.
As you begin this type of chakra meditation healing, it is important to know that calling in more Light into your being can GREATLY accelerate your spiritual growth. And yes, this does bring you relief from constrictions you may have been feeling and helps you experience a deeper experience of peace and wellbeing, especially if you do these meditations on a regular basis.
However, there is an important aspect that must be realized. All of us heal in layers. In this lifetime we carry within our bodies all left over “unhealed” residues from all the lifetimes we’ve ever lived. We don’t even need to go digging around inside to find out what they are. Just notice what “bugs” you during your daily life and that will reveal to you what is currently directly accessible for you to heal. It is a window of opportunity.
As you consciously turn inside to bring love to yourself and heal this material, the uppermost layer of trauma is transmuted first, hence the relief you feel initially.
And then, the next layer of trauma presents itself and you may feel out of sorts for awhile. This process is very much like housecleaning. Initially there may be a lot of “stuff” down in the basement that is annoying but not “in your face.” But then, as you begin the cleaning process, the “stuff” is hauled out of the corners and dust is flying around and it can look and feel much messier than it did before you started! However if you stay with the cleaning process, eventually the whole house is brought to a higher level of Light vibration and it feels great.
Because I feel it is important to understand this dynamic in order to bring the love and compassion to ourselves that is essential to this healing process, here are the steps again:
- 1. Negative energy gets stirred up within you, which shows you what is ready to be healed.
- 2. You bring Light in, heal that level of trauma, and feel relief and release.
- 3. Thus, the next layer of trauma is uncovered and things feel stirred up, and you’re back at step one again, but on a deeper level of your being.
Just continue with the meditations and your emotional healing and you will heal through each layer as it presents itself. When you are aware of this process as it is happening, it is much easier to bring love to yourself when the dust is “in your face” and flying around!
As far as I know, as long as we’re here in a body, this process continues. Each time we release old residues of the past, we expand with more Light in our energy field and become more consciously aware of the Pure Light of Who We Are.
