How To Be Happy

Learning how to be happy is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and everyone around you. True happiness comes from how we feel inside rather than our outside circumstances. There is a core of happiness inside you already, and the tips and suggestions below can help you tap into it.

Before I get into the different ways to learn how to be happy, I want to be clear about something. If you are experiencing a lifetime on this earth, then you came here for a reason that usually involves growth. Where there is growth there is discomfort. To grow we evolve and expand into new and unfamiliar territory. That always has an element of pain or discomfort as we push past our comfort zones and break through our limits.

So no one can promise you that your life will always be sunshine and rainbows forevermore. As long as we’re here we will have growing pains, even with all the happiness information in the world.

It Doesn’t Have To Be So Hard

However, I CAN promise you that if you take to heart and test out the suggestions on this page, you will move more quickly and easily through your growth phases and be well on your way to finding happiness. You will begin to “grow” happiness within you in your own unique way.

Your experience of true happiness may start out as a tiny seedling but as you feed it with these suggestions and your own self-care, it will grow bigger and stronger. Your mental/emotional landscape and the circumstances of your life may fluctuate all over the place, but you can still find the core of true happiness that is always there inside you and learn to align with it. These suggestions can help you do that. You can learn to listen to your heart and find your own unique path of joy.

These Will Help Too

Relax

Take a walk in nature, listen to soothing music, meditate, pet your cat, do yoga or whatever your favorite method of taking a break is. The body as well as the psyche needs to unwind and decompress on a daily basis. This allows you to release stress, replenish and nourish yourself with your own Life Force. Relaxation allows it to freely flow and circulate within you.

Exercise And Play

The benefits of exercise and play are so numerous they are uncountable. Any kind of play or exercise that you love doing increases longevity, self-empowerment, strength, endurance and mental clarity, among many other things. From a PBS special on “Brain Plasticity” I learned that the brain actually creates more neurons with regular exercise, and also releases “feel-good” chemicals into the system. This is a tried-and-true way to lift depression. When you pick something that you really love doing you will release even more wellbeing juice into your being.

Care For Another

When caring for someone comes naturally from the heart, it opens up the flow of love within you even wider. It widens out your perspective from the micro-view (generally this is focusing on ourselves and our problems) to the macro-view, which helps you keep things in a healthier perspective.

Whether it’s taking care of your plants, pets, or a loved one, or volunteering your time and love, having someone else’s best interests at heart can turn your energy around from negative to positive. One of the best ways to learn how to be happy is to want happiness for another.

Start Where You Are

Don’t underestimate the power of these suggestions. They may seem simple, and actually, they are. Yet each of them is also profoundly powerful. As you read through the list, notice which ones spark your interest. Start there. It is important to start where you are and expand out from there.

Another important point is to not judge yourself on how well you do any of these points. No one is keeping score on how well you’re learning how to be happy! Be kind to yourself. You will know how well you’re doing by how well you’re feeling.

Your outlook may change in small steps, but it WILL change. Don’t give up. Keep at it. True happiness is a worthy goal and you CAN be happy!

All suffering, whether it is physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual is a result of believing and thinking that we are separate from our Source and from each other.

Everything we experience is a reflection of our own minds. We can change our experience from suffering to peace by choosing to remove allegiance from suffering and giving it to Spirit within us.

Basically, we have two choices of where to live from:

1. Spirit Mind, where we experience Oneness, with each other and with God.This is the part of our mind that is the source of all healing. God is IN our own mind, not “out there” somewhere.

or

2. Ego Mind, where we can only experience separation, from each other and from God. This is the illusionary part of our mind that causes us to experience all kinds of suffering, everything from suspiciousness to viciousness, both within ourselves and seemingly “out there” in the world.

All we must do is choose which one we want. Really. It’s that simple. Not always easy, because of our mental conditioning, but simple.

In a WellBeing Alignment session you are assisted in discovering the underlying thoughts that are causing your distress. Then you are gently guided into Spirit Mind within you, where you automatically align with its infinite healing power. There is nothing the Holy Spirit cannot do.

We will scan through each of your chakra centers, as well as your whole energy field, to see what separating thoughts are held there. Then we bring Light, Love and Forgiveness to everything we see. Consequently, the illusion of separation is seen to be false and an opportunity opens up to let it go.

We will bring Compassion, Love and Forgiveness to you AS YOU ARE, which will make it much easier for you to forgive others. In this process your awareness of your Divine Self will open.

In your session you will be given “homework” to help you continue to train your thinking into Spirit Mind and proceed with your healing process.
